Kimberly has embraced all the opportunities that being a Bepko Scholar and Honors student provides. She says this pushed her to "engage deeply with complex material, think critically, and hold myself to a high academic standard." The learning environment emphasizes important qualities to Kimberly such as leadership and service, which helped shape her learning approach and professional responsibilities. While pursuing her bachelor's degree in political science, one of Kimberly's most meaningful volunteer experiences was working with food banks in Indianapolis. This specific involvement within the community helped her reinforce the importance of service, organization, and compassion. Kimberly was awarded the IU Indianapolis Top 10 in 2024, worked as a student coordinator for IU Indianapolis Bepko Learning Center, served as a leading and supportive supervisor and mentor, and held multiple internships in the downtown Indianapolis area, such as covering statehouse actions and working for the top 75 law firm Barnes & Thornburg. Kimberly is pursuing a Juris Doctor because she is drawn to the analytical reasoning, advocacy, and practical application of law. She plans to plan to work in a business-focused legal role where she can apply her legal training alongside operational and strategic decision-making.
